With Sean Lewis, a former Colorado quarterback commit to SDSU.

It was assumed that the school that signed former Colorado offensive coordinator Sean Lewis would sign three-star quarterback Danny O'Neil from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis.

O'Neil, a former Deion Sanders and Colorado commit, committed to San Diego State University, which appointed Lewis as head coach, fulfilling their expectations.

O'Neil chose San Diego State because of Lewis, as expected.

Before Lewis joined the Aztecs, the two had grown close when the quarterback was committed to Colorado.

Lewis may be SDSU's Coach Prime, according to O'Neil.

"It really comes down to the people," O'Neil told 247Sports about his commitment. Coach Lew, Coach Johnson, and everyone else made it feel like home.

"Everyone will see soon that San Diego State University is going to be a premier place to be in college football."

O'Neil is a top Midwest quarterback prospect, therefore his collegiate decision to play on the West Coast is notable.

Over three seasons for Cathedral, a high school state champion quarterback, he threw for 7,786 yards

and 98 touchdowns and ran for 1,326 yards and 27 touchdowns.
