The Saints shouldn't rule out an early-round quarterback because of Derek Carr.

Derek Carr, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, has angered a lot of fans with his on-field performance.

For this reason, a lot of supporters are hoping that the Saints select a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jayden Daniels, the quarterback for LSU, was linked to the Saints in a mock draft conducted by Pro Football Focus.

The coaches don't seem to be as irritated. Despite this, Carr's increasing injuries should force the front office to select a quarterback early in the draft.

Carr has already sustained two concussions this year, two separate shoulder injuries, and this past weekend's rib injury added to his litany of ailments. Carr has never had injuries this frequently.

Carr will turn 33 in March, making him 32 now. This might be an anomaly, but it could also be a portent of things to come.

Mickey Loomis may like to think otherwise, but 33 is hardly young in the NFL when it comes to injuries.

Dennis Allen and Derek Carr might still be paired in 2024, but the Saints shouldn't rule out selecting a quarterback first overall.
