Olivia Dunne Says a Security Guard Now Travels with Her and LSU After Crowd Incident Last Season (Exclusive)

In preparation for the forthcoming gymnastics season, Olivia Dunne has strengthened her personal security.

Dunne, 21, tells PEOPLE that the Louisiana university "really helped" her put the necessary security measures

in place following a terrifying event last year as she gets ready for her senior year as an LSU gymnast.

"Actually, we've got it settled down a bit," Dunne adds of her safety concerns.

"We haven't competed since last season," she says, "so we'll see what this season holds." However,

following the event in Utah last year, we now have a security guard who travels with the LSU gymnastics team."

The LSU star is referring to the uproar that erupted at the University of Utah when her team arrived to participate.

Dunne was hurt at the moment, but hordes of young men gathered outside the building, chanting, "We want Livvy!

Sports Illustrated stated after the incident, "Give us Livvy!" during other gymnasts' routines.

"There's literally a line outside of the Huntsman Center of teenage boys who keep asking if Livvy is coming out," said Utah sports writer Josh Furlong, who was covering the event live. "I've never seen anything like this before," said one user on X.
