Inter Miami: Tata talks about Messi and Suarez as the 2023 season comes to a close.
With Inter Miami CF's historic 2023 MLS season coming to an end, head coach Gerardo Martino hinted at how powerful and star-studded the Herons could be the following year.
Arrival of Suarez On the eve of Wednesday's home finale (8 p.m. ET | MLS Season Pass) versus Charlotte FC, Tata stated that the club is considering bringing in Uruguayan great Luis Suárez in 2024.
"Within our analysis of the upcoming season, and the needs we may have, we have an analysis with Luis and an analysis without Luis," Martino remarked of the 36-year-old great,
whose current coach at Brazilian Série A side Grêmio, Renato Gacho, just confirmed the player's departure at the end of the year.
"So when the moment arrives to make Suárez's situation with respect to Inter Miami official, we'll be prepared to go in the corresponding direction."
Suárez would add even more firepower to an already loaded Miami squad that underwent a massive midseason transformation with the summer signings of Lionel Messi,
Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba - all three of whom were teammates of the striker during FC Barcelona's legendary period of domestic and international dominance.
Martino stated that he will "evaluate" Messi once he returns from Argentina's World Cup qualifiers. After missing the club's previous four matches due to a nagging injury, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner just returned to action in Miami's 1-0 loss to FC Cincinnati on Oct. 7.
