Deion Sanders discusses the most important lesson he's learned as Colorado's head coach.

The top athletes and coaches are constantly working to enhance their skill.

Deion Sanders is no exception in his new role as Colorado's head coach.

His first season in Boulder hasn't been perfect, but even Sanders, one of the best players of all time, admits to learning on the job.

I asked Coach Prime earlier this week to discuss the most important thing he has learnt about himself this season. He reacted with a single word: patience.

"Patience is essential. We hadn't lost a regular-season game in two years where we came from (Jackson State).

Maybe one of the last three or four years of high school.

"It's tough to be patient and understand the formula of winning, you have to get pieces, everybody has to be all in

you have to paint the picture and they have to understand the portrait that was painted and you've gotta be on one accord."

Coach Prime made it plain before the season that his goal was to win right away, so he probably didn't expect his Buffs to be under.500 after nine games. However, he is now aware that laying a solid foundation takes time.

Colorado's final home game of the 2023 season is against Arizona on Saturday at 12:00 MT.
