Cowboys Preparing to be Without Key Starter: Report

According to the most recent information regarding the Dallas Cowboys, the team is getting ready to play without its starting defensive tackle, Johnathan Hankins

The fact that Hankins is dealing with a high-ankle sprain that the Cowboys are labeling as "minor" suggests that the situation is not entirely negative for the linebacker.

But Hankins might still be absent for a period of time. According to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Hankins is anticipated to return in time for the playoffs, "if not sooner."

"Cowboys defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, who left tonight's game in pain, received an initial diagnosis of high-ankle sprain, according to a source," Rapoport wrote on December 10th.

He is going to get an MRI, but it does not appear to be a serious condition. Not only should Hankins return for the playoffs, but he should do it sooner.

There is every indication that the Cowboys will solve the matter internally if Hankins is forced to take a suspension. In the event that Hankins is unable to participate in games,

it is anticipated that Carl Davis, a member of the practice squad, will be deployed."A lot of mention today from the #DallasCowboys coaches about practice squad DT Carl Davis in the aftermath's Nick Harris detailed in a message that was posted on X on December 11th. A name to keep an eye on this week in preparation for the Buffalo game is Davis, who has been a veteran for eight years
